The Best Vegan-Friendly & Vegan Restaurants in Oklahoma City

Here we go!

Loaded Bowl

Oklahoma - Oklahoma City - Farmers Market District - The Loaded Bowl

This is one of my favorite all-vegan restaurants in OKC. They serve great homestyle vegan dishes such as their Mac and Cheese bowls, vegan lasagna, and even vegan enchiladas! Everything on the menu is 100% vegan, and many can be made gluten-free.

My personal favorite has always been the BBQ Mac Bowl with a creamy cashew cheese sauce and delicious BBQ ‘chicken’. They also serve a wide range of desserts and pastries including some truly luscious vegan cheesecake options.

For the best variety of good old America favorites, I suggest visiting The Loaded Bowl. Pick Up and Delivery options are available.

The Red Cup

Oklahoma - Oklahoma City - The Red Cup

I’ve been visiting this OKC classic for many years. They have a multitude of vegan options and new items are available each week so you’ll never get bored! My favorite item is the Breakfast Burrito, but you can’t go wrong with any of their plant-based burgers. I love The Red Cup for its creative list of vegan food and for the friendly artsy-cafe style dining. Open for breakfast and lunch, this charming spot is perfect for a quick bite, or to sit on the patio with friends.

If you like Indian and Indo-Chinese cuisine, look no further than Taj Cuisine of India. They have a wonderful lunch buffet or you can order from the buffet to go.

They have a great selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes to choose from and all vegan dishes are clearly marked as such. I highly recommend the Eggplant Masala. I can never have just one serving! The service is excellent, the prices are reasonable. This is the perfect spot for a quick lunch and in a great central location right on 23rd Street.

Sala Thai

Oklahoma - Oklahoma City - Sala Thai

I have a weakness for really good Thai food! That’s why I had to put Sala Thai on the list of the best vegan-friendly restaurants in OKC. Not only does this restaurant have a great selection of vegetarian and vegan-friendly dishes, but you can even ask for special requests.

The eggplant stir fry is a spicy favorite. If you like spicy foods then you will really enjoy their menu. Not a fan of spice? They will customize your dish to the level you prefer. A real winner in my vegan playbook.

Holey Rollers

Oklahoma - Oklahoma City - Holey Rollers Vegan Donuts

What started out as a food truck has evolved to include a storefront and I couldn’t be happier! Holey Rollers is my go-to spot for vegan donuts in OKC!

With a wide selection rotating daily they offer wonderful dairy-free, egg-free, and even some gluten-free options. They are a popular spot, so I suggest getting an early start as they sell out quickly, especially on the weekends. They have some savory items on the menu as well so there is something for everyone. A great place to grab a donut and some coffee. In the heart of the Paseo District, this is a charming spot to spend a morning.

Green Goodies

Oklahoma - Oklahoma City - Green Goodies Vegetarian Food

I am so happy to say that there is a vegan-friendly bakery right in Classen Curve. Not only do they have vegan pastries and gluten-free pastries, cookies, and cookie cakes but they also specialize in cupcakes. I’ve had many wonderful birthdays brightened with their vegan birthday cupcakes!

I even served them up on a family member’s birthday who thought they were so good they couldn’t tell the difference.

With so many flavor options I highly recommend this vegan-friendly bakery. They do serve non-vegan baked goods as well so take note of any inadvertent cross-contamination.

I tend to get inspired by this place to go home and try to make my own versions of their goodies. Because you can’t really tell the difference between their vegan treats and non-vegan ones made elsewhere, it’s inspired my own home cooking. From my own take on vegan lemon curd cupcakes to vegan blueberry lemon cake, I think being a fan of Green Goodies has shaped my baking for the better!

Flower Child

Oklahoma - Oklahoma City - Flower Child Vegan Food in OKC

A new addition to Classen Curve, Flower Child offers up a variety of vegetarian and vegan menu items. My personal favorite is their Thai Dye wrap with spicy tofu. It’s a great take on my much beloved Thai food.

They also have many gluten-free options for those interested. It’s a wide selection and everything is done with a healthy spin. I will have to make many a return trip to try all their delicious options. Dine inside, on the patio, or order to go. It’s a great option for healthy vegan eats in OKC.

Nunu’s Mediterranean Cafe

Oklahoma - Oklahoma City - Nunu’s Mediterranean Cafe

Nunu’s Mediterranean Cafe is one of the best places to grab falafel in the city. With so many vegan and vegetarian options, you’ll be glad you stopped by. Their falafel platter is wonderful and the portions are generous.

From hummus, baba ghanouj, lentil soup,  tabouli, and fresh pita bread there are a wide variety of vegan dishes to choose from. Sunnyside Diner

Oklahoam - Oklahoma City - Sunnyside Diner

Without exception, Sunnyside Dinner has become my favorite vegan breakfast restaurant in OKC! With an entire list of plant-based vegan options, you have a wide selection to pick from. Even some of their classic menu items can be made vegan with a few substitutions. I go back for the lemon blueberry French toast over and over!

They have a laid-back atmosphere with indoor and patio seating. The perfect place for a relaxing weekend brunch you can enjoy your vegan food with a side of Bloody Marys or a bottle of mimosas. My husband treats me to this delight on a regular basis! The best part is they have 3 locations in OKC and even one in Edmond so I can get my breakfast fix no matter where I’m at that day.

Location: 916 NW 6th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73106; 824 SW 89th, Oklahoma City, OK 73139; 9138 N MacArthur Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73132 and 7 E 2nd St, Edmond, OK 73034

Saturn Grill

Located right in Nichols Hills plaza is this great spot for lunch or dinner. With a menu that has almost half vegetarian options, most of which can be made vegan, you won’t soon run out of choices. They’ve got great soups, salads, pasta dishes, sandwiches, and flatbread pizzas.

A great location and a menu that boasts made from scratch dining. Put this one on your list for a great American cafe-style option.

Picasso Cafe

Oklahoma - Oklahoma City - Paseo - Picasso Cafe

From ‘meatloaf’ to tacos, Picasso Cafe, or Picasso on Paseo, is a great restaurant for delicious vegan and vegetarian food in the Paseo. Located in the heart of the Paseo District, this restaurant is dedicated to serving local food in a welcoming environment.

I truly enjoy my trips to this charming cafe. They are committed to serving quality vegetarian food and host a 5-course Veggie Dinner on the third Tuesday of each month offering a vegetarian-inspired menu. Whether you are looking for vegan or vegetarian food in OKC, you’ll find something great from Picasso Cafe.

Panang Thai Restaurant

Oklahoma - Oklahoma City - Panang Thai Restaurant

If you’re looking for authentic vegan Thai food in Oklahoma City, I highly recommend a trip to any of the Panang Thai locations. I am not a big fan of the tofu-only vegan diet, but the tofu that comes in these Thai dishes is sinfully delicious! I get the spicy eggplant dish with vegetables and tofu almost every time. If I’m not indulging in their delicious soups or noodle dishes that is.

And I never go without starting with some fresh veggie spring rolls. They are a delicious fresh salad in rice paper served with a creamy peanut dipping sauce. The portions are very generous so be prepared for leftovers, one of the perks to dining here in my opinion!

The atmosphere is relaxing and the prices are reasonable. One word of warning, when they say spicy they mean it. I enjoy a lot of spice to my Thai food but have never made it past spicy level 4 without a few tears! Don’t worry though, they make the spice level to order and a level one is mild enough for even the most spice shy of them all.

Plant

Oklahoma - Oklahoma City - Plant OKC

Plant is a ‘Fresh Local Plant-Based Cafe’. Probably one of the healthiest options on this list, Plant caters to all things health. And it’s one of the only true all plant-based restaurants in Oklahoma City.

You can get a multitude of teas, tonics, and smoothies all tailored to your health needs. But they don’t just serve beverages, they have an all-day menu. You can start with a smoothie bowl or avocado toast for breakfast, and still come back for one of their many soups, salads, or even a Mediterranean bowl. Plus they offer vegan brunch specials! Try it sometime for a healthier way of vegan eating.

Empire Slice

Empire Slice is the place for some upscale pizza by the slice. While none of their menu items are specified vegan, with such a diverse range of sauces and toppings you can easily make your own vegan pizza.

Empire Slice has locations in Nichols Hills and OKC so you can find good pizza no matter what part of the city you are in. Their pizza ‘The Fungus Amungus’ sounds incredibly tempting! However, for an average of $25 per pie, be prepared to pay a little more for this upscale treat.

The Collective OKC

The Collective is OKC’s first food hall. Located in Midtown the Collective is a group of eleven kitchens serving a variety of dishes. Several of the kitchens offer vegetarian and even vegan options. Two of the kitchens are Okie Pokie and The Fried Taco. You can even get a mushroom Philly Cheesesteak from Phill Me Up Cheesesteaks! Come for the food, stay for the atmosphere.

One perk of the rooftop bar is the beautiful view of downtown OKC. On the negative side, the Collective doesn’t have parking, so you must find a space on the street or in a local garage. Besides the great food, my favorite part of the OKC Collective is that their patio and outside dining is dog friendly!

The Press

Described as Southwest Comfort food, their menu definitely delivers. Offering such classics as vegan sloppy Joes, nachos, and even a vegan dumpling soup!

One of the best vegan restaurants in Plaza District in OKC, this restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining and boasts a range of food for brunch, lunch, and dinner. It also has an extensive drinks menu for late-night dining. With such a beautiful patio this is a great spot for those warm spring and summer evenings.
